As long as it is your phone and you paid for it, it is as legal to unlock it as it is to give it to someone else, lose it or break it!
If your contract doesn’t say that the phone remains the property of the service provider, you are allowed to do anything you like with your own cell phone as long as this is not a fraud attempt.
Changing the phone's IMEI is illegal in some countries and it is called 'cloning'. This method is used especially with non-GSM phones and is considered illegal because it enables users to create false identities and to charge amounts to someone else's account.
We do not use any type of cloning methods, but only legal and totally safe ways for your cell phone unlocking.
As far as we know, every GSM phone can be unlocked. In most cases, non-GSM phones can't be unlocked. Please consult the list of phone models that we can unlock and include the name of your service provider in the contact form. This way we can contact you back and provide you with a quick and sure answer as to whether your phone can be unlocked or not.
Your service provider will probably not care whether you unlock your phone or not. According to your contract, you have to pay a monthly amount to your service provider regardless whether you ever use your phone or not! So why should they care about its being unlocked or not? In fact, it may even turn out profitable for them, as long as you never use the free minutes included in your contract.
Once you have entered the unlock code, your phone’s display shows a message that sounds encouraging.
Still, in case no message is displayed and you have some doubts as to whether your phone has been successfully unlocked or not, you can borrow a SIM from a friend, issued by a different service provider and see if it works with your cell phone. If it works, this means that your code or unlock software worked properly.
It is the provider which sold you the phone that has programmed this logo (known as a ‘splash screen’). Unfortunately we can’t change it so that it reflects the name of your actual service provider. Unlocking your phone removes only the electronic restriction because of which you can’t use your phone with other wireless services. The splash screen has nothing to do with mobile phone unlock.
